For todayā€™s feature, Iā€™d like to share a brief version of my story.

The start of this semester marks 25 years since my first days at Penn State Shenango as a student.

Honestly, I took some hits from friends and classmates for choosing to attend such a small, close-to-home school. But I didnā€™t care. It was the only school I wanted to attend to kick off my higher education. And I couldnā€™t have made a better decision for myself at that time.

I loved my time as a student at Penn State Shenango. I loved it so much that when I returned several years later as an employee, it just felt like where I was always supposed to be. (Feel free fo come talk to me about Penn State Shenango. I'll talk your ear off ā˜ŗļøl

It feels a bit poetic, in a way, that my first and last years with Penn State Shenango were a ā€œmilestoneā€ apart. Twenty-five years.

And although I am still adjusting to the fact that I am old enough to have been in college 25 years ago, I will forever be grateful that this place existed. Penn State Shenango truly has a piece of my heart.

We had the opportunity to celebrate our amazing Lartz Library team today, and we were grateful to all be together.

We also shared a heartfelt farewell with Cassie (seated), our reference and instruction librarian. Tomorrow marks her final day at Penn State Shenango, and while we'll miss her, we're excited for all that's ahead.

Join us in wishing Cassie all the best on her next adventureā€”or stop by on Wednesday to say goodbye in person!

Happy July! From one of my favorite spots on campus this time of year :)

It's our final July. We are officially down to months instead of years. But we are looking forward to seeing some of our favorite faces and sharing some of our favorite stories in the coming months. We'd love to hear your favorite stories! (We're a library after all! We love stories!)
