The Shawano Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with an ongoing investigation. Residents who have home surveillance cameras, doorbell cameras, or other exterior video surveillance systems are asked to review their footage for any potentially suspicious activity, individuals, or vehicles recorded during the following timeframe:

*September 2, 2026
*8:00 PM – Midnight

Areas of particular interest:
*Richmond St south to Ridlington Ave
*Franklin St east to Evergreen St

Investigators have canvassed this area extensively; however, to ensure no residences were missed, we are asking residents to contact us if they captured video during this timeframe. We are specifically interested in any individuals, vehicles, or unusual activity. Even footage that may initially appear insignificant could provide valuable information to investigators.

The attached photograph of the suspect was captured during the incident. Keep in mind, the suspect may have changed clothing prior to and after the incident in an attempt to avoid apprehension.

If you have footage that may be relevant, please contact the Shawano Dispatch Center at 715-526-3111 and reference this request. Please do not approach or attempt to identify anyone yourself. Please preserve the video footage and contact law enforcement.

We appreciate the continued cooperation and support of our community. Your assistance and any surveillance video of the subject may provide additional evidence that becomes important to the investigation.

Whether you are heading to the Shawano County Fair or enjoying one of the many community activities happening this Labor Day weekend, take time to enjoy the sights, sounds, activities, and events that make this a special time in our community.

If enjoying the Shawano County Fair, be sure to take some time to explore the many exhibits and displays showcasing the incredible work of our community’s youth. From 4-H projects to other creative and educational exhibits, these displays highlight the hard work, dedication, and talent of our young people. Stop by, take a look, and help celebrate their accomplishments!

Our officers will be out and about throughout the weekend. As you enjoy the Fair and other Labor Day activities, remember to look out for one another, be aware of your surroundings, and keep an eye on your belongings. If you plan to consume alcohol, make arrangement ahead of time for a safe and sober ride home.

Enjoy the weekend, make some memories, and take time to enjoy all that our community has to offer.

Thank you Shawano! We had so much fun last Tuesday night at NNO~National Night Out! What a great turnout we had!

The kids and our officers had a blast at Tug of War!! The kids sure gave the officers a run for their money!

Thank you to all the officers from Shawano Sheriff's Office, Shawano County SRT and Dive Team, Menominee Tribal Police Department, Menominee County Sheriff's Office - Wisconsin, Menominee Tribal Conservation Department and members of the Shawano Ambulance Service and Shawano Area Fire Department who came out to join us for this amazing event!

We also had many other civic organizations within Shawano and Menominee Counties join us. These civic organizations shared a wealth of information as well as their valuable services that they can provide to our communities.

Thank you to all our donors who either donated something-food, prizes or other things, or donated time to help us with this event. Twig's Beverage Inc., Charlie's County Market, Performance Foodservice, Raddant Electric, Walmart Shawano, Elizabeth Business Complex, Optimist Club and Culver's. Thank you to MC Whitehorse for providing all the great music & entertainment for our event! Thank you to Rogue Graphx for wrapping a squad hood for everyone to sign. Thank you to the many businesses from Shawano County who donated to help make this event possible!

A huge thank you to members of the Shawano Optimist Club, State Farm Family and Robyn Shingler and family for cooking and serving all of the food! Thank you for coming out every year to help us with the food! Your continued support is greatly appreciated!

Thank you to the Shawano County Cadets for all their help and for making sure all our 1st responders had water!

A huge thank you to our community for coming out to support all of us and making it possible to meet you! We have such an amazing community! Your support is awesome and appreciated more than you will ever know!

Yesterday was our last lunch in the park and we had an awesome turnout! We had so much fun hanging out with everyone!

Thank you to our friends, Rochelle, Kaylee and Tasia, from CoVantage Credit Union, for coming out and servig food to our guests as well as helping us set up and clean up.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to join us this summer! Your support is greatly appreciated! We had a blast and can’t wait to see you next summer but hope to see you at other events or out and about before then!
