We understand the profound shock and grief that follows a tragedy like this, having walked a similar dark path in our own community back in 1998. We know how deeply a city can be shaken, but we also know the incredible resilience, unity, and courage that emerges when a community comes together.

To the families who are hurting, and to the Bend first responders working tirelessly on the front lines—your bravery and dedication carry your city through its hardest moments. We see you, we honor you, and we stand ready to support you in any way we can.

💜 This October, the Springfield Police Department joins communities across the nation to observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Domestic violence affects individuals and families in all walks of life, right here in Springfield. We stand in solidarity with survivors, honor the strength of those who have broken free, and remember those we have lost.
Our officers are committed to protecting victims, holding offenders accountable, and working alongside local advocates to break the cycle of abuse. You are not alone, and our community has resources ready to support you.

🏃‍♀️ Conquering the high desert—our amazing team did it! ☀️

We are incredibly proud of our phenomenal team of female officers and dispatchers who recently stepped up, laced up, and dominated the High Desert Relay! They pushed through the miles, conquered the unique terrain, and perfectly demonstrated the grit, teamwork, and dedication they bring to our community every single day.

Update: owner located but now the pig is on the run again! Last seen in the 5600 block of Daisy.

🐷 WHO KNOWS THIS PIG?

This large tan pig was recently seen running from Lane County Sheriff's Office in the Bob Straub area and has now apparently decided to call it a day—he was found sleeping peacefully in front of a local home. 😂

We’re now looking for his owner! If you recognize this sleepy escape artist, please contact Springfield Police Department & we’ll let you where to find it. He’s quite skittish & wont let us get close.

Apparently, running from the law is exhausting. 🐷💤

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Springfield Police Department is proud to stand with the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and honor the families impacted by this disease.

Education, awareness, and early detection are our best tools in this fight. Take time this month to schedule your routine screenings and remind the people you love to do the same. Together, we are stronger. 💕
