The Greyhound Fire claimed the life of a community member and friend on 2/11. We will miss F. This is yet another devastating reminder that we need different types of housing and wrap around services to help KEEP chronically Unhoused people in housing.

Here is another look at the Annual Communities First Great Toy Giveaway! 🎄✨

Smiles filled the 14th Ward as children and families came together with Santa, the Grinch, dedicated volunteers, local law enforcement, and community leaders including Alderman Rasheen Aldridge and State Rep. LaKeySha Bosley to make Christmas brighter for children who might not otherwise receive many gifts.

This is what community looks like. This is what love in action feels like. ❤️🎁

As we begin our event planning for the new year, let’s recap our 2025 Christmas holiday events! This year our annual 14th Ward Christmas Parade brought magic to our neighborhood! Santa, on his sleigh, the Grinch, Alderman Laura Keys, and the fire department all joined us as we stopped at homes so families could take pictures and share the joy. Thank you to everyone who made this day unforgettable!

🎄 December 7 - 14th Ward Annual Christmas Parade 12 PM to 3 PM. Lineup begins at 11 AM 1428 Salisbury Street.

🎄 December 13 - 16th Annual Great Toy Giveaway 12 PM to 5 PM. Herbert Hoover boys and girls club 2901 North Grand Blvd.

🎄December 14 - Christmas Basket Giveaway Noon to 4 PM. 1428 Salisbury Street.
