Today, we had the opportunity to partner with Partnership for Strong Families for a choking safety and LifeVac demonstration at the Bradford County Public Library.

A special thank you to Lt. John Townsend for leading today’s class! Lt. Townsend did a great job providing hands-on instruction, answering questions, and helping attendees learn how to recognize and respond to a choking emergency.

We appreciate everyone who joined us today and took the time to learn these potentially lifesaving skills!

Earlier this week, Bradford County Fire Rescue was proud to provide the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office with naloxone holders for their deputies.

These small holders attach directly to a deputy’s duty vest, providing quick and easy access to the life-saving medication naloxone during an opioid overdose emergency.

The holders were provided through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the BCFR Community Paramedicine Program as part of our continued efforts to expand access to naloxone and strengthen overdose response throughout Bradford County.

Join us to learn standard choking response protocols that can be used in your home, along with a demonstration of how a LifeVac airway clearance device is used during a choking emergency.

Bradford County Fire Rescue units are currently responding to multiple reports of downed trees and power lines following a significant storm moving through the county.

Crews are working to clear blocked roadways and address hazards as quickly and safely as possible.
