Hey y'all, the National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning today from 11 AM to 8 PM.

The heat index is expected to get up to 113ºF to 116ºF.

All County libraries will be open today from 10 AM to 6 PM to provide cooling stations, restrooms, air conditioning and charging stations for folks trying to beat the heat. The Main Library will be open until 9 PM.

It is unspeakably frustrating and disappointing when the City of Tallahassee takes these types of positions on issues that are clearly contrary to the intent of their policy actions.

It’s a perfect example of how petty politics creates bad policy and it insults the intelligence of the community members we serve.

The City of Tallahassee’s residents deserve better.

I’m still confident that our mutual governments will figure out a solution that ensures every citizen, homeowner and business in our community continues to get the world class fire service it is accustomed to without the petulant, semantic, and cynical political games.

Let’s not forget how we got here.

It was because the City clearly proposed a termination of the fire services agreement.

Chairman Caban is right. There are no two ways about it.

County staff are deploying immediately to clear roads and clean up.

Y'all come out TONIGHT and support Bradfordville Fire & Rescue tonight at Barrel Proof Lounge in Bannerman Crossings.

They're celebrating a recent $10,000 grant award and proceeds from the event will go towards continuing to support fire and volunteer fire departments.

See you there!

Your fire department is one of twenty-four fire departments, nationally, to receive a 2026 “One For All” Grant presented by Proper Whiskey.

You may have seen it flashing over the last week or so. Crews are out today putting in some final touches.
