Excellent results at the end of this operation that happened on September 21 with Bay County Sheriff's Office leading the way and targeting criminal activity in a portion of the county.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of 44 individuals following a week-long targeted enforcement operation focused on addressing criminal activity in the northern end of Bay County. The operation was carried out the week of September 21st.
“Operation 6-7” focused specifically on the Fountain, Youngstown, and Bayou George communities along the U.S. 231 corridor. The operation was named after Zones 6 and 7, the areas covered by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office patrol districts.
Throughout the week, BCSO deputies worked alongside Air-1, the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) investigators, the Special Investigations Division (SID) investigators, the Warrants Division, and the BCSO SWAT team, to target individuals and activities contributing to crime in these communities.
As part of the operation, SID investigators executed nine search warrants and arrested 24 individuals. Investigators seized 332 grams of methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of fentanyl, 213.6 grams of Butanidol (commonly known as “scoop”), and 16.9 grams of ma*****na, including three ma*****na plants. Investigators also seized 14 fi****ms and $2,113 in cash.
The SID investigations alone resulted in 44 misdemeanor charges and 50 felony charges.
In addition to the narcotics investigations and search warrants, BCSO personnel conducted s*x offender compliance checks and other targeted enforcement activities throughout the area. The operation resulted in arrests involving charges ranging from drug trafficking and other narcotics offenses to s*x offender violations and numerous additional crimes.
This operation was about more than simply making arrests. It was about putting additional resources into communities, following up on criminal activity, and addressing the problems that impact the people who live and work there.
While this week-long operation has concluded, the work does not stop here. BCSO investigators and deputies will continue following leads, investigating criminal activity, and working with the communities we serve to keep Bay County safe.
