We are an open-admission municipal animal shelter owned and operated by the City of Tallahassee, and serving the surrounding communities. Our mission is simple; we work to protect the public and the welfare of all the animals in our community. Our official mission statement reads: Tallahassee Animal Services (TAS) ensures public safety and the welfare of animals by enforcing animal control regulat

ions and by providing a secure, healthy environment for animals in its care. Our goals are simple too, and all focus around the primary goal of maximizing the number of lives we can save by:

After arriving at the shelter as a stray, he got the chance to join a foster home where he has been thriving and making fast friends with just about everyone! Whether he's out on a walk, playing in the yard, or lounging around the house, Butch is an easy-going dog who listens well and enjoys keeping his people company. Plus, he's crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash!
