We had a great day today welcoming the 5th graders from all three elementary schools. We cannot wait for you to be Panthers! 🐾❤️5th grade Olympics were a complete success! Thanks to NWMS student council, 5th grade teachers, parent volunteers, Mrs. Cramer, Mr. Bowser and Mr. Knafel for a great day.

NorthWood Middle School Select Singers and Jazz Band competed at Six Flags Great America on Saturday with the Music in the Parks Festival.

Both groups received the highest possible ratings of "superior."

The Select Singers placed first in the show choir division. The Jazz Band placed first in the Jazz Band division and was also named best overall Jazz Band.

The NorthWood Middle School swim program made history last week at the Big 11 Conference Championships, bringing home its first-ever conference trophies. Both the Junior Varsity girls and boys teams earned 2nd place finishes, marking a major milestone for the program.

“Two trophies found a new home at NorthWood tonight—and for the first time in our program’s history, they’re Big 11 trophies,” said Head Coach Kristen Martin. “To bring home two in one night is incredibly special.”

The JV girls team finished second with 269 points, while the JV boys also secured second place with 213 points. Strong individual performances and key relay finishes helped lead both teams to the podium.

The success continued at the Varsity Big 11 Championship, where NorthWood swimmers delivered an impressive performance against top competition. The varsity girls team placed 3rd, while the varsity boys placed 4th.

Leading the way, Ellie Reynolds delivered a standout performance, breaking two individual school records in the 100 individual medley (1:05.57) and the 50 freestyle (26.20).

“This team has worked incredibly hard all season,” Martin said. “They’ve built a strong culture of effort, support, and intentionality. This result is a reflection of that.”

With a historic finish at the JV level and strong varsity results, NorthWood Middle School swimming continues to build momentum and establish itself as a competitive force in the conference.

The NorthWood middle school 6th 7th and 8th grade bands all received GOLD ratings at the JME ISSMA contest for concert band on Friday night at Elkhart High School! Congratulations to all!!

The Reading LeBrons won Battle of the Books this year and will travel to Northridge to compete for the traveling trophy. Congratulations Zoe, Logan, Zachary, and Ethan!
