Veterans have served our country with courage and sacrifice. We owe them more than our gratitude—we owe them our commitment to listen and act.

It was an honor to join Congressman Ted Lieu and veterans from across West Michigan for a roundtable discussion at Hero's & SHero's Corner. We talked about the challenges veterans are facing, from accessing health care and benefits to finding the support they need after service.

Thank you to everyone who shared your experiences and to Hero's & SHero's Corner for creating a place where veterans can find community, connection, and support. I'll keep fighting to ensure our veterans receive the care, resources, and respect they've earned.

Keeping Congresswoman Kaptur in my prayers following today's accident. Wishing her strength, comfort, and a full and speedy recovery. Thinking of her family, staff, and all who are supporting her during this time.

This morning Congresswoman Kaptur was a passenger in a vehicle on her way to a church service when the car she was traveling in was struck. She is active, alert, and being treated for non-life threatening injuries. We look forward to additional information from Toledo Police as they investigate the accident. Congresswoman Kaptur is thankful for the quick actions of first responders from Toledo Police and Fire Departments who arrived promptly on scene, and the medical professionals helping to take care of those involved in the crash. She expressed her deep gratitude to the hundreds of constituents who have reached out and looks forward to returning to a full schedule soon.

Three more Planned Parenthood health centers have closed their doors in Michigan because of federal funding cuts.

From breaking through that tough, freshwater ice on the Great Lakes to keep our commerce routes clear, to rescuing the two survivors of the SS Bradley, and aiding in search and rescue for the Edmond Fitzgerald, the USCGC Sundew has been there. It was an honor to learn about her legacy from those who keep it alive today! Thank you also to the incredible crew of the USCGC Mackinaw and USCGC Neah Bay for your hospitality and your service!.

Since January, more than 600 West Michiganders have reached out to me about protecting our Great Lakes and strengthening oversight of data center projects. I hear you loud and clear, and I introduced two bills to address those concerns.

As more data centers come online across Michigan and the country, we need greater transparency about how they affect the water and power our communities rely on. My bills would provide communities with better information about data centers’ resource use and costs to consumers, while requiring the federal government to meet stronger efficiency standards for its own facilities.

Our data needs are growing, and we need the domestic capacity to meet them. But that growth cannot come at the expense of our local communities and resources.
