The first U.S. case of New World screwworm has been confirmed in Texas.

This invasive pest presents a serious threat to Texas’ livestock, wildlife, and rural economies. I fully support U.S. Department of Agriculture and Texas Animal Health Commission’s response efforts to prevent a more widespread outbreak.
