Big congrats to my client & his family for becoming first time DC Homeowners! 🎉 We used HPAP to get him a whopping $68,000 in down payment assistance, and another $7,500 from FHLB in the form of a forgivable loan! Competitive market withstanding, I was able to get him under contract in only our first wknd looking & with our very first offer! Let this be proof that there ARE affordable opportunities to buy in DC, & with an experienced realtor & lender it’ll be a breeze.

Senior Housing Affordability Is A 'Slow-Moving Crisis' That Requires Major Public Investment Bisnow | "The city can’t be the only pocket you’re reaching into," Donald said. "We’ve got limited resources at some point, and the demand is always going to outstrip the supply of land and soft funds, so we’ve got to keep working together to figure this out."

‘Solar For All’ Brings Clean Energy to Low- and Middle-Income DC Residents

"Community solar allows low-and-moderate income households that cannot afford on-site solar to receive a portion of their electricity from a remote solar project. To date, most community solar is subscription-based, whereby a credit is added to a resident’s electricity bill that reduces the amount normally paid. In Washington D.C., community solar projects have helped residents save up to 50% on their utility bill." Next City
