Dr. Anthony Fauci won’t be safe from the law if he lies to Congress during his high-profile Wednesday hearing, House Oversight Chairman James Comer says, claiming Fauci’s presidential pardon has limits.
Comer told Fox News Digital that while former President Joe Biden's pardon covers Fauci's government service from 2014 through the end of Biden's presidency, it "doesn't cover Dr. Fauci's testimony this week," warning that "if he continues to lie, he must be held accountable."
The pardon broadly covers actions tied to Fauci's government roles, but legal questions remain over whether it would shield him from potential liability if he makes false statements during congressional testimony.
Fauci is set to testify just days after hundreds of pages of his COVID-era diary entries were released.
