I enjoyed attending the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers change of command ceremony. The Army Corps of Engineers delivers critical public and military engineering services. I’m proud to co-lead the introduction of the Businessowner Immigration Rights and Responsibilities Information Act with Ranking Member Nydia Velazquez. Immigrants are owners and employees at small businesses across the country. This bill will ensure Main Street knows their full rights and protections.

ICE detention centers across the country are cutting back on critical services like medical treatment and letting our neighbors suffer. This rampant mistreatment must end NOW.

I joined Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove to introduce a bill that will implement measures to hold ICE accountable for their disturbing pattern of mistreatment at detention centers across the country, requires them to provide adequate care, and takes significant steps to protect detainees’ access to the constitutional rights they continue to be denied

Today, I joined my Democratic colleagues to open an investigation into reports that the DoD failed to provide sufficient care for servicemembers injured by Iranian strikes.

Our troops should never be sent into combat without a clear plan to care for them if they’re injured.

President Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law 61 years ago. Now, thanks to Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, 17 million Americans are going to lose their healthcare coverage in the biggest cut to Medicaid in history. It’s shameful. I'm committed to fighting to protect your access to the care you need.

On July 30, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law, expanding access to healthcare for millions of Americans.

These programs are lifelines for our communities, and House Democrats are fighting to protect them.
