When I was at the Pentagon as the Undersecretary of Personnel and Readiness, every promotion for every general and flag officer in the U.S. military came across my desk. Never did we ever talk about quotas for race or gender.

Everything that the military does has been based on merit. Any attempts from Republicans to claim otherwise are inaccurate and insulting.

The Trump battleship isn’t what the Navy wants or needs.

It’s another fool’s gold vanity project that Trump can stick his name on.

This is a waste of taxpayer money that helps no one.

Today, the House passed a bipartisan War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump’s illegal war on Iran.

The American people are united in their opposition to this reckless war of choice and now their voice has finally been heard.

The constitution is clear, only Congress has the right to declare war, not the President.

It is time for Trump to end his unpopular war.

The House passed a largely symbolic war powers resolution Wednesday over objections from Republican leaders that it would “weaken the president’s hand” in negotiations with Iran.

I spoke about the importance of leveling the playing field for small businesses to enter, compete, and succeed in the federal defense market at today’s hearing.

Unfortunately, small businesses that don’t have corporate backing or President Trump’s full support face immense hurdles when competing in the federal market.

I’m committed to advocating for our small businesses and protecting their right to compete in the federal marketplace. America’s national security depends on it.

I had the honor of standing in for Ranking Member at today’s hearing. I’m proud to be a strong champion for American small businesses and the critical role they play in protecting our national security. I’ll keep fighting everyday to support legislation that empowers our small business owners to grow and thrive.

Happy Pride Month! This June, we celebrate and uplift the LGBTQI+ community and the progress we’ve made in our fight for equality and inclusivity for all.

We also reaffirm our commitment to fight for a better America, free of discrimination or hate, where everyone has the right to love who they love and live as who they are. I will always speak out against bigotry and use my platform to champion the LGBTQI+ community.
