As Americans gather together this Thanksgiving, the price of their meal is 14% higher this year thanks to soaring inflation and supply-chain crises from President Biden's policies. Inflation’s 31 year high will be gobbling up more of our money this Thanksgiving.

As we head into the holiday season, we often take time to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for. Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joys, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

From my family to yours, I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving. May your heart and your home be filled with gladness and joy.

Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan joined me in Fargo today for the second installment of my “Bully Pulpit” series, inviting influential public and business leaders to North Dakota to hear from the people in our state. Any opportunity to showcase the exceptionalism and commonsense of North Dakota to business leaders is a win in my book.

We know how to strike the right balance between energy development, environmental conservation, and the economy. None of these are mutually exclusive and they all support American innovation, investment, and increased opportunities for North Dakota.

I’m grateful Brian Moynihan took the time to come to Fargo and learn more about the advancement of carbon capture technology and our innovative energy leadership.

I hosted U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Assistant Administrator for Water Radhika Fox and Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works Jaime Pinkham in Bismarck yesterday for a Waters of the U.S. listening session where they heard firsthand from farmers, landowners, and stakeholders.

North Dakotans live and work in the heart of the Prairie Pothole Region and have long been subjected to the regulatory ping pong of Waters of the U.S. regulations. It shouldn’t be this hard to identify what is navigable water and what is not.

I’m grateful the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency upheld their promise to visit North Dakota and join me for the first and only in-person listening session ahead of the ten virtual listening sessions they’ll be holding to continue to gather feedback to craft a new WOTUS rule.

Statement on Renomination of Jerome Powell for Federal Reserve Chair

With the economy hamstrung by COVID-19 and Biden’s supply chain issues and soaring inflation, the Federal Reserve needs consistency.

This week I challenged President Biden’s vaccine mandate with my Republican Senate colleagues, discussed North Dakota conservation easements at an Environment and Public Works hearing, met with the Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs ahead of his visit to North Dakota, and confronted President Biden’s Comptroller of the Currency nominee on her radical statements regarding bankrupting oil and gas companies.

I also hosted the first in-person event for the Senate United States Space Force Caucus, joined CNBC’s Squawk Box and NBC’s Meet the Press to talk about the Democrats’ big government socialist agenda.

State of GOP, Infrastructure Bill Discussed on Meet the Press

I happen to believe that not every transaction in Washington requires a loser. We all need to get together and have this conversation about what’s good for America, not what’s good for our tweets tomorrow.

We are living in a time in our country where the Congress you see that appears very divided is really a reflection of our communities that are very divided. What I get concerned about is a political movement that devalues police officers, cuts their funding, and makes them into the bad guys when they’re the ones keeping our streets and communities safe. Now Democrats are forcing this crazy big government socialist agenda and driving up inflation and driving up our debt and our deficit.

Our founders created a fantastic, exceptional system of self-governance. Obviously political adversaries are a means because our founders created three co-equal branches, a bicameral legislature on purpose. They did not want a king. They didn't want one party or one philosophy governing this country. We need to start thinking more strategically. My full remarks on Meet the Press:

Sen. Cramer Confronts Biden’s Comptroller Nominee on Her Radical Views at Banking Hearing

I questioned Dr. Saule Omarova, nominee to be Comptroller of the Currency, on a number of her previous controversial statements and radical views regarding bankrupting oil and gas companies and “socially sub-optimal” industries, and the community bank’s opposition to her nomination.

Dr. Omarova, a Moscow State University graduate and V.I. Lenin Personal Academic Scholarship recipient, has openly stated she wants to bankrupt the oil and gas industry.

The Independent Community Bankers of America, along with 41 state associations, are strongly opposed to her nomination to be the primary regulatory and supervisor of U.S. national banks.

The Office of the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency is no place for a nominee with these views, especially in light of current skyrocketing inflation and supply chain problems.

The Supporting Families of the Fallen Act

At a Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, I gave a shoutout to Senator Tommy Tuberville for his leadership on the Supporting Families of the Fallen Act.

Good news for the day!

For the 2nd year in a row North Dakota Department of Transportation is #1 in the United States for overall performance and efficiency by the Reason Foundation, a significant national recognition.

Congrats Bill Panos and the entire NDDOT team!

The Reason Foundation announced today that for the second year in a row North Dakota is ranked first in the nation in highway performance and cost-effectiveness. 👏The investments made during the special session last week and through the federal infrastructure bill will go far in helping us address our structurally deficient bridges and maintain our best-in-the-nation highway performance. The Federal Land Asset Inventory Reform (FLAIR) Act

Yesterday the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee passed the FLAIR Act out of committee.

Senator Martin Heinrich and I introduced this bill to create a complete database of the lands owned by the federal government, which will improve management, enhance access, and increase transparency.

We can't expect the government to properly manage public lands if it can't fully account for what it owns.

“We cannot expect the federal government to properly manage our public lands if it cannot fully account for what it owns,” said Senator Cramer. “Our bipartisan legislation would improve the management of federal lands and access to them by eliminating discrepancies between federal departments ...

House passes Biden spending bill after months of delays

Adding hundreds of billions of dollars to the deficit and fueling inflation is the last thing Democrats and the Biden Administration should be doing when our economy is already stewing in a pressure cooker.

I absolutely oppose this bill along with every one of my Senate Republican colleagues. This socialist wish list is chock full of tax hikes on hardworking American families, tax breaks for millionaires, attacks on domestic energy, and it stifles American exceptionalism. Not to mention it has no legs to stand on in terms of merit or Senate procedure.

Last time I checked, we live in the greatest representative democracy in the world, and yet the American people do not want, do not need, and cannot afford this reckless tax and spending spree.

House lawmakers voted to pass President Biden’s expansive spending bill on Thursday night despite strong opposition from Republicans and lingering questions about the White House’s claim that the cost of its policies will be fully covered.

Discussing Infrastructure, Democrats’ Reckless Tax and Spending Spree, Rising Prices on Squawk Box

On Squawk Box this morning with Joe Kernen and Andrew Ross Sorkin talking Democrats’ reckless tax and spend spree, the recently passed bipartisan infrastructure law, and inflation.

All 50 Republicans oppose the Democrats’ reckless tax and spending bill. There’s a lot of problems with their plan, but the biggest is it would add more inflation pressure at a time where the economy is already under vast inflationary pressure.

Joe Biden’s inflation is self-inflicted. It’s a direct result of his policies that stifle domestic development. He shuts down supply by prohibiting drilling on federal lands then begs OPEC to produce more. It makes no sense.

I spoke with Grow America's Infrastructure Now Coalition about the energy industry and its role in North Dakota’s economy.

We also discussed the bipartisan infrastructure bill, the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the importance of federalism and states’ rights. American fossil energy, development, production, and export is the right move, and North Dakota is leading the way in the field of energy.

Our clean energy technologies are proof Joe Biden’s anti-American energy agenda isn’t the only possible approach. There is a more reasonable, common sense approach to energy, which can benefit our nation, our allies, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions on the global stage.

US Questions Brazilian Beef Imports

Similar to ranchers across North Dakota, I have serious concerns about beef imports from Brazil. Allowing contaminated Brazilian beef to enter the U.S. risks animal and human health alike. U.S. Department of Agriculture should reinstitute the ban on Brazilian beef imports.

The recent announcement that sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease has been detected in two humans in Brazil has now led to conversations on whether the U.S. should continue to allow fresh beef imports from Brazil.

Pushing FWS Nominee for Answers on Conservation Easements in North Dakota at Nomination Hearing

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's heavy-handed enforcement Waterfowl Protection Area easements is a recurring problem for North Dakota landowners and producers.

Our farmers have been so abused by the federal government they no longer want to enter into these easements. In a private meeting and a Senate hearing with Martha Williams, Acting Director of Fish and Wildlife Services, I highlighted how important it is to fix this problem by recognizing water is water, dryland is dryland, and contracts with landowners matter.

Biden asks for probe of potential 'illegal conduct' on gas prices

The Biden Admin wants to blame everyone except themselves. It’s not complicated. President Biden's decisions to demolish American energy have real consequences.

Joe Biden bears responsibility for high energy prices, not America’s producers who fuel our economy.

President Biden is asking the head of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to look into whether oil companies are illegally increasing prices as consumers face high costs at the pump.

I hosted the first in-person Senate Space Force Caucus event today!

With the United States Space Force's second birthday around the corner, there is much to celebrate since the stand-up of the Force. I look forward to continuing the great relationship between Congress and the Space Force and the continuation of this caucus as an avenue to discuss solutions and support for our nation’s newest military branch.

Inflation breakdown by states and cities

President Biden’s economic policies are hurting the American people, particularly the Midwest. North Dakota is experiencing some of the highest inflation rates in the country at more than 7%.

The numbers don’t lie, and right now they’re telling us we absolutely do not want or need the reckless tax and spend agenda of the Biden Administration. We need to fix our supply chain issues. They need to stop giving away “free” money. They need to stop begging OPEC+ to produce more oil while doing everything in their power to shut down domestic production.

With the holiday season just around the corner, we’re all feeling the impacts of inflation. It’s a tax on all of us. The American people deserve better than higher prices at the pump, grocery store, and everywhere they turn.

Families are battling the highest inflation rate since 1990, according to the Labor Department. However, consumers in certain regions are getting hit harder than others.

During last week’s in-state work period, I held a press conference highlighting wins for North Dakota in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, delivered remarks on carbon capture technology and American energy production at Basin Electric’s Annual Meeting, and received the Eagle Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors recognizing my voting record to bolster and protect America’s construction industry.

I also met with North Dakota’s University System Chancellor and a group of North Dakota retailers in Bismarck.
