Please join me in praying for the police officer injured in today’s shooting. Our thoughts are with the officer, their loved ones, and the entire Baltimore County Police Department. We are grateful for the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who serve and protect our communities.
(2:40 p.m.) OFFICER SHOT BY ARMED SUBJECT IN PRECINCT 4 - PIKESVILLE
At approximately 8:50 a.m., officers from the Pikesville Precinct were responding to a suspicious person/indecent exposure call along a trail off Milford Mill Road when they were fired upon by an armed subject. As officers exchanged fire with the subject, a Baltimore County Police officer was struck. Both the officer and the subject were transported to Shock Trauma. The officer is currently conscious and being treated. The officer has been with the Department for approximately one and a half years. A bystander was also injured during this incident and transported to an area hospital.
(12:23 p.m.) At approximately 8:50 a.m., officers from our Pikesville Precinct were responding to a suspicious person/indecent exposure call along a trail off Milford Mill Road when they were fired upon by an armed subject. One officer was struck and transported to Shock Trauma. A news conference is scheduled for 1:15 at Shock Trauma (Penn & W. Lombard).
(9:55 a.m.) Officers are responding to reports of a shooting in the Pikesville Precinct (900 block of Milford Mill Rd.). PIO is responding to the scene. Additional details will be provided shortly.
