Last week, I was grateful to attend the Education and Workforce field hearing titled, “Building an AI-Ready America: How AI Is Creating Opportunities Across America’s Workforce,” at the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center in Augusta. I was joined by my colleagues, Congressman Rick Allen and Congresswoman Lucy McBath; President of Augusta University, Dr. Russell Keen; and others. This center is a public/private collaboration among academia, government, and the private sector, designed to meet the growing need for cyber security talent through creative training solutions, while shaping a culture of innovation.

I appreciated the opportunity to have met with leadership from the South Carolina Aquarium, including Chair of the Board, Jessica Brewer, to discuss the important role the aquarium plays in South Carolina. Cancer, an organization that promotes pediatric cancer research by identifying structural obstacles in the research process such as new drugs, pediatric studies of adult drugs, tissue donation, and access to funding.
