The District of Columbia Court of Appeals has launched a new Petition for Review (PFR) application designed to make the filing process faster, more convenient, and accessible to all.
Prior to this launch, members of the public submitted their PFRs either by mailing them to the court or by visiting the courthouse in person.
The new PFR app allows petitioners to submit their petitions electronically from anywhere, eliminating mailing delays and removing the need to travel to the courthouse. After submission, petitioners will receive an email confirmation from the court and will have the option to download a copy of their filing for their records.
Because the app does not currently include an online payment vendor, petitioners must still mail or deliver their payments to the D.C. Court of Appeals Public Office.
