Yesterday members went out to the two brush fires in our area caused by downed power lines during the storm to check hot spots.

This evening McKinleyville assisted by Bethany were toned to respond to a brush fire in the area of 4100 Bethany Pike. Upon arrival Chief 300 and Chief 21 found fire at the top of the hill on a right of way. Chief 300 requested additional man power from Beech Bottom, Wellsburg, Hooverson Heights, Franklin, and Brilliant, OH. This fire was especially hard to fight because of the terrain. All firefighters had to carry water to the fire up the hill. Thank you to all the departments that helped during this event. Great Job by all!

At 6:14am this morning Mckinleyville was dispatched to a reported structure fire on McCords Hill Rd. Rescue Engine 33 was the first arriving engine on scene and found a working fire in the basement. The fire was extinguished within minutes using approximately 250 gallons of water. Beech Bottom, Franklin, and Wellsburg Fire Depts were dispatched and on scene as well. Great Job to all involved!

Today we lost one of our brothers. Peanut joined McKinleyville VFD in 1957 and dedicated 69 years to the Department. You are truly going to be missed brother. Thank you for your service to our Department. Love and Prayers to the Vanhorn Family.

Just after midnight, McKinleyville was requested by Wellsburg VFD to respond to Aspen Manor for a Working Structure Fire. McKinleyville Responded with 2 Engines, 1 Tanker, 1 UTV along with 13 personnel.
