First due building fire. On 8/12/26, company 3 along with mutual aid departments were dispatched to an apartment fire behind the station. Units arrived with smoke showing from the roof. E32 deployed a handline though the building to the roof area and located fire in the roof line. Numerous other Carroll County Departments assisted on scene.

First due house fire

As storms came through the area on 8/10/2026, box alarm 3-12 was dispatched for the house fire. Chief 3 arrived finding smoke showing from the roof area. Crews located fire in the attic and were on scene throughout the evening opening up void spaces and extinguishing the fire.

Company 3 was dispatched to assist on this fire. E32 arrived as the second due engine.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD (August 10, 2026) — The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal house fire that occurred Monday morning in Finksburg.

The identity of the deceased, a 64-year-old man, is pending notification of next of kin. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. A 77-year-old woman was also transported by ambulance to a burn center in Baltimore for treatment of injuries. Both were occupants of the home.

At approximately 5:23 a.m. on Aug. 10, 2026, firefighters from the Reese Volunteer Fire Co. and mutual aid responded to the 1800 block of Old Westminster Pike for a reported house fire. Deputy State Fire Marshals determined the fire originated in the kitchen area. Investigators found no signs of criminal activity at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Investigators were unable to determine whether the home was equipped with smoke alarms. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are assisting with the investigation.

Tower runs 2 alarm fire in Winfield. On 8/9/26, Tower 3 was dispatched to a box in 14s area for a house fire. Units arrived with fire throughout a large dwelling. While the Tower was on the fire, E32 responded on a box in Reese for a reported house fire.
