Today in Open Session, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the week of September 28th - October 2nd, 2026 as Economic Development Week in Maryland.

Since 2011, Economic Development Week in Maryland has highlighted the transformative impact of economic development on communities and individuals. Events and activities hosted by various statewide economic development organizations will highlight the efforts and initiatives to improve business retention, job growth, and quality of life for Maryland residents.

Carroll County Economic Development supports business attraction, retention, and expansion across all sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, information technology, hospitality & retail, construction, trade, transportation & utilities, healthcare, professional and business service firms, and small business enterprises.
