The Council is looking for some new members. This is a great way to serve our veterans at several levels. We were responsible for getting funding for Helping Heroes to hire a su***de prevention worker, hosting meet and greet for candidates prior to general election, meet with politicians and fight for legislation, and support local veteran events. So much more. You can contact us here or email [email protected]. We meet the last Wednesday of the month for about an hour. Great way to serve.

June is PTSD Awareness Month, a dedicated time to reduce the stigma surrounding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and highlight that effective, life-changing treatments exist. Approximately 5% of U.S. adults live with PTSD at any given time, but most do not receive the care they need. If you know someone with this disease, reach out, check on them. It can go a long way.

The Veterans Council is looking for some new members. We meet once a month and sometimes at events. This council has done some significant things for our Northern Panhandle vets and vet throughout the state. If you would like to join or just check it out, we meet next Wednesday at Helping Heroes at 6:30. A great way to help fellow veterans.
