The Veterans Council is looking for some new members. We meet once a month and sometimes at events. This council has done some significant things for our Northern Panhandle vets and vet throughout the state. If you would like to join or just check it out, we meet next Wednesday at Helping Heroes at 6:30. A great way to help fellow veterans.

Veterans Visibility Day is an important opportunity for our military community to gather and to be honored for their service. We hope that you can be with Secretary Kennedy and staff from the Department of Veterans Assistance for this special day next year.

We are so sad to share this news. Tom was a founding member of the Northern Panhandle Veterans Council. Tom meant so much to so many people. He can never be replaced.

The council is looking for some like minded individuals to join. We have made so many strides and have done some amazing things. If you’re a veteran looking to give something back, or just a positive way to be around veterans, this may be the place for you. We will have our next meeting at t. Post #3 in Moundsville on Wednesday, March 25th at 6:30. You can just show up.

If you are a veteran and have a senior student in high school planning to attend post secondary education, Helping Heroes and the Northern Panhandle Veterans Council are each giving $1000 scholarships for which you can apply. Applications for northern panhandle students are with your guidance counselors. The deadline is fast approaching, so get your application in. For the NPVC scholarship ,a veteran can also be a grandparent. Awards will be presented at the Helping Heroes fundraiser on May 8 at the Wheeling Park ice rink.
