What does "community" truly look like? For the Whippany Fire Department, it looks like this.

Over the past few days, you may have seen our own Tom Braviak quietly working in the cemetery. He takes it upon himself to clean and restore the funeral plaques of some of our deceased members, ensuring their final resting places are cared for with dignity.

This morning, the torch was passed to the next generation. Our current members, alongside their children, were out placing American flags throughout the grounds, honoring every veteran resting there.

This is the spirit of the fire service. We watch out for one another—past and present. We pass these values of respect and service on to our kids. And we honor those who served our country.

As we go into Memorial Day weekend and look forward to the parade on Monday, let us all pause to remember the men and women who gave their ultimate life and sacrifice to help one another and serve our nation. That is an amazing and touching legacy, and that is what the fire service is about.

Please join us on Monday for the Memorial Day Parade as we collectively remember and honor our heroes.

Better Together! 🤝🚒 & 🚓

Change of plans for Sunday, May 17th! We’ve realized our friends over at the Hanover Township PBA Local 128 are hosting their "Cars, Coffee, and Cops" event on the same morning.

In the spirit of community and supporting our brothers and sisters in blue, we have decided to cancel our Hot Rods & Hoses show for this year. We don't want to divide the crowd when there is such a great cause to support right up the road!

We’re encouraging everyone to head over to the Hanover Marriott instead. All proceeds from their event go toward buying gifts for sick children at Goryeb Children’s Hospital—a cause we can all get behind!

Where: Hanover Marriott (1401 Route 10 E, Whippany)

When: Sunday, May 17th @ 8:00 - 10:00 AM

Entry: $20 (All for the kids! 🧸)

Let’s show them some Whippany love. See you there! ☕🏎️

We’ve already battled two fires last week. Please don’t let a buried hydrant slow us down during the next one.

Here's a quick post as to why clearing a 3ft circle around your hydrant is critical (especially with a frigid week ahead of us that is going to turn these snow mounds into hard ice: 👉
