Engine 271 is officially in service!

Today was an exciting day at Whitestown Fire as our crews officially welcomed Engine 271 into its new home with a traditional push-in ceremony.

The push-in is one of those fire service traditions that means a lot to us. It dates back to the days of horse-drawn equipment, when firefighters would return from a call and push the apparatus back into the station by hand.

Today, our members carried on that tradition together as we placed Engine 271 into service and began its next chapter serving the Whitestown community.

We’re excited to have Engine 271 on the road and ready to serve. Welcome home, 271! 🚒

The trophy is back home where it belongs !!

🎊 THE RESULTS ARE OFFICIAL… AND TEAM FIRE TAKES THE WIN! 🎊

Talk about a close race! Team Fire and Team Police were separated by just ONE participant, making this our closest Battle of the Badges 5K competition to date! 👏

And for the first time since our inaugural race in 2022, the coveted Battle of the Badges trophy is back at the fire station! 🏆

Whitestown Parkway will be closed this morning between 475 E and Commerce Dr/525 E for a vehicle accident and clean up. Please drive safely and find alternative routes while commuting.

Our crews had a great time at Eagle Church sharing fire prevention education with the community. Fire Prevention Week runs October 4 through 10, 2026. It’s a great reminder that small steps, like testing smoke alarms, planning two ways out, and practicing your escape plan, can make a big difference in an emergency.
