‼️‼️ Reminder, Roadrunners!

Just a friendly heads-up that there will be NO SCHOOL next Tuesday Nov 3rd, due to a District Inservice Day!

This is a day we haven't traditionally had off in past years, so we wanted to make sure it doesn't sneak up on anyone! 😉

✅ No classes for students
✅ Take the day to rest, recharge, and enjoy some extra family time
✅ We'll see everyone back at school on Wednesday, ready to learn!

Introducing the Roadrunner Attendance Cup! 🏆

At L’Ouverture, we know that every day counts! That's why we're excited to launch our new Roadrunner Attendance Cup, a schoolwide attendance challenge that celebrates classrooms with outstanding attendance each month!

Each month, we'll recognize the classroom with the highest attendance percentage from the previous month. The winning class will earn the Roadrunner Attendance Cup 🏆 to proudly display in their classroom, plus a fun mini popcorn party 🍿 to celebrate their achievement!

The Attendance Cup will travel from classroom to classroom throughout the year, giving everyone a chance to earn bragging rights and celebrate the importance of showing up ready to learn each day. 📚

🎉 Congratulations to our first Roadrunner Attendance Winners! 🎉

🥇 August Winner: Mrs. Kirk's Class with an outstanding 97.29% attendance rate!

🥇 September Co-Winners: Mrs. Washington's and Mrs. Libel's classes with a fantastic 95.61% attendance rate!

Way to go, Roadrunners! Thank you to our students and families for making attendance a priority. Let's keep the momentum going and see who takes home the Attendance Cup next! 💙💛

‼️‼️Families: Wichita Public Schools has an important school bond proposal coming up on the November 3 general election ballot. Voting is important. This bond proposal is important. Please make time to vote in this election.

🗳️Early voting is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Oct. 30 at:

🔹Sedgwick County Election Office at 3639 N. Comotara St.
🔹Sedgwick County Extension Office at 7001 W. 21st St.
🔹Advanced Learning Library at 711 W. 2nd St N.

‼️‼️You can also vote Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Library and Extension Office, and Monday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m.-noon at the Election Office.

Flex Day Fun in 4th Grade!

Mrs. Washington's class put their math skills into action during Everyday Math Game Centers! Students stayed engaged and challenged their thinking with activities like Polygon Capture, Multiplication Jenga, and EM4 online games, including Top-It 7 Digit. 🎲➕🔢

Learning through games is a great way to build problem-solving skills, practice math concepts, and have fun while doing it! Way to go, 4th graders! 👏📚

La clase de la Sra. Washington aprovechó su día de Flex para participar en los centros de juegos de Everyday Math. 🚀✈️ Roadrunners & Families, Looking for a Fun Weekend Adventure? ✈️🚀

Today, some of our L’Ouverture Roadrunners had the opportunity to visit the Frontiers in Flight Airshow at McConnell Air Force Base, and we're excited to share a few photos from their experience!

As a Career & Technology Magnet School, opportunities like this are especially meaningful for our students. The airshow is more than incredible aircraft and flight demonstrations—it's a chance for students to explore real-world careers and discover how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are used every day.

Be sure to visit the STEM Zone in Hangar 1126, located near the Family Zone, where kids can participate in hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations, and exciting learning experiences. Whether they're building, experimenting, or exploring future careers in aviation, engineering, and technology, there's something to inspire every young learner.

☀️☀️☀️📖📖Mrs. Mitchell’s class was recently caught enjoying some reading time outside in the sunshine. While walking by, I couldn't help but notice how engaged they were, so I had to stop and snap a picture! There’s nothing quite like a good book and a beautiful day to make learning even more enjoyable.

Yesterday, our Latchkey students had a great time starting their day with fun and friends! From enjoying the fresh air outdoors in the early morning to exploring a variety of activities indoors, there was something for everyone.

Students got creative with magnet tiles, played with dolls, worked on puzzles, colored masterpieces, and practiced their gymnastics skills. We love seeing our students stay active, use their imaginations, and build connections with one another in a safe and engaging environment.

🐄🐐🎃 Our 2nd grade Roadrunners had an exciting day yesterday at Klausmeyer Dairy Farm & Pumpkin Patch! Students learned about dairy farming through cow and goat milking demonstrations, enjoyed hands-on animal feeding experiences, and toured the dairy machines that help keep the farm running. It was a day full of learning, discovery, and fall fun. Check out some of the memories from their adventure!
