Happy World Beard Day! 🧔‍♂️ (Yes, it's a real global celebration! Google it!)

​If you have spent any time on a Wichita Habitat construction or home repair site, there is a very good chance you have met Dana and Don. Dana is our general contractor for new construction, and Don leads the way as our general contractor for home repairs.

​Around here, they are notoriously known for their epic beards! But beyond the great facial hair, they do absolutely amazing work building and repairing homes for our community. We are incredibly lucky to have their expertise on site every single day.

A huge thank you to the Wichita State Men's Basketball team for teaming up with us today at Pope Leo Village!

The players split into several crews to tackle siding, helping with sealant, and building a carport. Thanks to their hard work and hustle, we made tremendous progress on two homes for local families.

We always appreciate these athletes taking time off the court to give back to our community. Best of luck this season, Shockers! 🌾

Volunteers are putting faith into action! Back in July, members from Ascension Lutheran Church joined us to help move our mission forward. We want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who came out, with a special shoutout to our core volunteer, Mark Herbert, for leading the way and bringing his church community together to build with us.

On September 2, we kicked off another incredible year with our friends from Jump Start Stores!

The Jump Start team joined us for a morning huddle at Rock the Block Piatt. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to see the transformative results of their volunteer work from last year.

After taking in the sights on Piatt Avenue, we walked over to Pope Leo Village. This is where the Jump Start team will be rallying their members to help us build another, safe, affordable home for a family in our community this year.

A massive thank you to Phil, Cheryl, and the entire Jump Start Stores family. We could not move our mission forward without your dedication and support!

Huge thanks to our core volunteers and staff as they have been spending the past few days in the warehouse plate prepping for ICM, Inc.'s 25th sponsored home. We truly could not do this without your tireless "behind-the-scenes" dedication.

Our Legislative Build on August 26 and 27 brought elected officials, community leaders, and advocates together right where the impact happens: the construction site!

It is one thing to discuss about affordable housing, but it is another to grab some tools and help build a solution. By hearing from families and working alongside future homeowners, our leaders get to see firsthand how safe, affordable housing transforms lives. It provides a quiet space for kids to do homework, a dining room for families to connect, and a stable foundation for generations to come.

Thank you to all the decision-makers and advocates who joined us today to engage in hands-on impact. Together, we are building a future where everyone has a decent place to live!
