The Human Services Department focus on the health and welfare of Windham's residents through programs providing a variety of services aimed at meeting the human service needs of Windham residents in order to promote a maximum quality of life. The Windham Senior Center, enriches the lives of Windham’s adult community (ages 55 and older) by offering a variety of programming and services. It is the g

oal of the Windham Senior Center to provide access to social, nutritional, wellness and recreational opportunities in a supportive and accessible environment. The center promotes a wide variety of programs and services include but not limited to: recreation and leisure, health and wellness, games, day trips, nutritious luncheons, information and referral, social services and monthly senior newsletter.

Windham Human Services está distribuyendo tarjetas del Programa de Nutrición del Mercado de Agricultores para Personas Mayores a residentes elegibles.

El programa SFMNP ofrece beneficios a personas de 60 años o más, o a personas con discapacidad menores de 60 años que viven en viviendas ocupadas principalmente por adultos mayores donde se ofrecen servicios de comidas congregadas.

Los fondos pueden usarse para comprar frutas frescas sin procesar, vegetales, hierbas cortadas, miel y huevos cuando lo permita el financiamiento estatal. Los participantes deben cumplir con los requisitos de ingresos, con un ingreso familiar igual o menor al 185% de las guías federales de pobreza.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Cards Available

Windham Human Services is distributing Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program cards to eligible residents.

SFMNP provides benefits to individuals who are 60 years of age or older, or to disabled individuals under age 60 who live in housing facilities primarily occupied by older adults where congregate nutrition services are provided.

Funds may be used to purchase fresh, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, honey, and eggs where allowed by state funding. Participants must meet income eligibility guidelines, with household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Access Agency and Liberty Bank present a Good Neighbor PLUS Mortgage Workshop with Peter Ganci. This workshop will cover information for purchasing 1–4 family, owner-occupied homes and condominiums in Willimantic and Windham. The workshop is free, and lunch will be provided by Liberty Bank.
