👏Last week, four individuals completed 120 hours of corrections officer training, and officially graduated from the Corrections Academy!

🏛️Hosted in Williston, the Academy was led by Corrections Lt. Carr and featured instruction from a wide range of law enforcement professionals. The group was engaged and inquisitive throughout the training.

🚨Two graduates are employed by the McKenzie County Correctional Center, one with the Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center, and one here, with the Williams County Correctional Center.

🎉Congratulations to the graduates!

We can't pass up a chance to highlight our multi-talented deputies! 🌟 Deputy Isenhower was honored today by the Williams County Dispatch Center with a Firefighter Award. 👨‍🚒

🔥On May 27, the Dispatch Center received a call for service for a small grass fire that was in the middle of a ditch. Deputy Isenhower was assigned to the call and the Epping Rural Fire Protection District-Epping ND was paged. Deputy Isenhower was close by and was able to respond within minutes. With swift action, he was able to extinguish the fire before more help was needed. ✅

🤩Coincidentally, Deputy Isenhower is also a volunteer firefighter with Epping Rural Fire!

⚠This is also an important reminder that if you see a fire, don't assume someone else has called it in. 🔥 If you see flames, make the call! We only need basic information, like a mile marker post, cross-street, or landmark, to determine where the fire is located. 📌🗺

🚨SCAM ALERT🚨We've recently received an uptick in reports involving scam callers - don't be next! Remember:

➡️ Law enforcement will never demand payment over the phone, and especially not in the form of bitcoin.
➡️If you receive a call that solicits personal or payment information and seems suspicious, it likely is.
✅You can always call the Williams County Sheriff's Office non-emergency line at 701-577-7700 to validate the call.

Yee Haw! 🤠What better way to round out the school year than with a bike rodeo?!? 🚲 We had a great time at Ray Public Schools last week, sharing information about bike safety and cheering the kids on as they navigated different stations! 🚲

Each year, on May 15, the nation recognizes Peace Officers Memorial Day to honor law enforcement officers that gave their lives, or were disabled, in the line of duty. 🌹🚨

This day falls at the end of National Police Week, which celebrates the dedication and community service of all our fellow LEOs. ✨

Lt. Detective Fry, Sheriff Kvande, and Corrections Cpt. Mohl had the honor and privilege of attending the North Dakota Peace Officer Memorial Service at the capitol in Bismarck last night.

These special occasions are always a reminder of the commitment that law enforcement demonstrates each and every day.

Thank you to our LEOs at home and afar - and to those that made the ultimate sacrifice. 🙏
