Burglary of Veterinary Clinic with theft of medications
PLACE: Falls Road Veterinary Clinic, 475 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Maine
On the morning of August 28, 2026, the Farmington Police Department responded to a reported burglary at Falls Road Veterinary Clinic, located at 475 Farmington Falls Road. Investigators determined that forced entry was made into the facility during the overnight hours. A significant quantity of controlled medications, in both liquid and pill form, were stolen. These medications are intended strictly for veterinary use and can be extremely dangerous, and potentially fatal, if used by anyone for whom they were not prescribed.
Of particular concern, several vials of Euthasol, also known as Pentobarbital, were taken. Euthasol is a powerful veterinary drug used to euthanize domestic animals. The potential danger to any person who may possess, handle, or consume this drug is significant and should be treated as a serious public safety concern.
Many of the stolen medications may be sought by individuals struggling with substance use disorder or used experimentally. These substances can be especially dangerous when combined with alcohol, illegal drugs, or other prescription medications, greatly increasing the risk of medical emergency, overdose, or death. The Farmington Police Department urges anyone who encounters these medications not to touch or consume them and to contact law enforcement immediately.
