A working smoke alarm can make all the difference when seconds matter. If your home needs smoke alarms, come see us!

📅 Pick-Up Dates: September 14–18
🕐 Time: 1:00 PM–5:00 PM daily

🚒🚁 Training Together

Barrow County Fire Department crews recently provided standby coverage during a Georgia National Guard training exercise involving helicopter hoist and rescue operations.

The exercise gave National Guard personnel the opportunity to conduct specialized rescue training while BCFD crews remained on standby to provide fire and EMS support throughout the operation.

Following the exercise, our crews were given a tour of the aircraft and an opportunity to learn more about its capabilities, equipment, and role in rescue operations.

Opportunities like this allow our personnel to gain a better understanding of the resources and capabilities of our partner agencies while building relationships that can prove valuable when we’re called to work together during real-world incidents.

We appreciate the Georgia National Guard for the opportunity to support their training and for taking the time to show our crews around the aircraft.

Subject: Official Annual Fire Inspections and Compliance Notifications
The Barrow County Fire Marshal’s Office is issuing an important notice to all local business owners regarding annual fire inspections and compliance enforcement.
The Barrow County Fire Department and City of Winder Fire Department are the only two Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) within Barrow County. We are the only entities authorized to determine your business's compliance status during annual fire inspections.
Protect Your Business from Unauthorized Inspectors
Please be aware of unauthorized individuals or third-party companies targeting local businesses.
• Direct Communication Only: All official inspection reports and compliance notices come directly from the Barrow County Fire Department or City of Winder Fire Department and Fire Marshal’s Offices
• Avoid Solicitations: If an individual approaches your business claiming you are out of compliance and offers to fix the issues for a fee or wants to perform an annual inspection, do not hire them.
• Report Suspicious Activity: Contact our office immediately if your business has been approached recently or if your business is approached in the coming days/ weeks by anyone making these claims.
