We are proud to debut this new community service program. We often encounter seniors or others in the community who live alone or have limited connections who could use a visit from a friendly face. If you or someone you know could benefit from this please reach out.

PSA - Traffic Alert - Tomorrow June 2nd, Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run kicks off at 8am in West Bath at the Mobile Station. Runners will carry the Torch from West Bath and travel north on Rt. 1 to the Thomaston/Rockland townline.

Wednesday June 3rd, Leg kicks off at 8am at the Maritime Farms Store on Thomaston/Rockland townline and run through Camden. This section will also travel north on Rt. 1.

Thursday June 4th, Leg will kick off somewhere near Belfast and travel to Hermon. This is a new section for Leg 4 and I apoligize that I do not have all the details for this leg.

We try to stay as far right as possible but there will be areas that will narrow and traffic will back up, especially on business Rt. 1 going through Newcastle and Damariscotta. Please be patient and be mindful of the runners. There will also be areas where Special Olympic Athletes will join us in the run. Feel free to cheer us on with a honk of the horn, your kindness always motivates the runners.

All proceeds from the LETR all go directly to Special Olympics Maine to help get Athletes to and from the Summer/Winter Games. It's never too late to donate, you can drop of your check payable to Special Olympics Maine at any local Police Department or Sheriff's Office and they'll know what to do with it. You can also assist by getting your ticket(s) for the annual side-by-side drawing that takes place in October.

Thank you for your continued support!!

Around 930pm, home owner on the north end of Gibbs Rd reported a large black bear on her porch. The bear was gone when officers arrived but her bird feeders were knocked over. The game wardens advised that bears typically look for quick outside food sources, such as bird feeders, and if they do not locate one, they quickly move on. If you live in the surrounding area, you may want to take down feeders, put away bbq grills. Etc. If you see anything stay away and call dispatch. 207-882-8202.
