All Vincentian students (ages 10-18) are invited to participate in the OECS Watt’s Art: Sustainable Energy Meets Creativity Competition. This event is held in observance of CARICOM Energy Awareness Month, celebrated annually in November.
The competition will take place from Monday, November 4th to Monday, December 2nd, during which students will create their two-dimensional art pieces. Participants are encouraged to explore the following themes to inspire their artwork:
• The power of renewable energy resources
• Energy conservation in everyday life
• Innovative solutions for a sustainable future with energy
• The impact of energy on our lives and the environment
The submission deadline is Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
Submitted artworks will be featured on the OECS’ social media pages, where the public will vote for their favourite piece to determine the People’s Choice winner.
A panel of judges will also select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place winners. The Sustainable Energy Unit of the OECS Commission will publish artwork from selected participants in a 2025 calendar and feature it among learning resources on the OECS Digital Learning Ecosystem.
