Edinboro Hard Court Officially Rehabilitated and Handed Over

Residents of Edinboro and surrounding communities can now enjoy a revitalized sporting facility following the official handover of the newly rehabilitated hard court on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Funded by the Government of India through its Quick Impact Projects (QIP) Programme and implemented by BRAGSA in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the project was completed at a cost of approximately EC$191,923.

Works included the construction of 654 square yards of reinforced concrete surface, complete with steel mesh reinforcement and enhanced 106 linear yards of 14โ€™ high fencing to provide a safer and more durable recreational space for community use.

Speaking at the ceremony, BRAGSAโ€™s Chief Technical Officer, Ms. Natoya Thomas highlighted that the facility represents more than concrete and fencingโ€”it is a space where young people can develop their talents, build confidence, foster teamwork, and strengthen community bonds.

The official handover ceremony was attended by His Excellency Subhash Gupta, High Commissioner of India to St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Hon. Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hon. Daniel Cummings, Parliamentary Representative for West Kingstown; Hon. Kaschaka Cupid, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture & Creative Industries; and other government officials, community members, and stakeholders.

BRAGSA extends sincere appreciation to the Government of India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the project team, contractor Mr. Byron Lucas, and all stakeholders whose collaboration made this important community project possible.

New Feeder Road Development Underway in Farm Road, Marriaqua

The first phase of works is currently underway for the development of a new feeder road in Farm Road, Marriaqua.

Works include the clearing of vegetation and debris to facilitate the construction of a new roadway and drainage system, which will improve access for farmers and residents in the area.

This project falls under the Volcanic Eruption Emergency Project (VEEP).

22/05/2026

BRAGSA is continuing debris management and road access improvement works along the Lot 14 Road in North Windward, leading to the trail to La Soufriere.

Hear from Mr. Dillon Morris, Engineering Assistant within BRAGSAโ€™s Northeastern Division, as he provides an update on the works being carried out under the Volcanic Eruption Emergency Project (VEEP) Debris Management Project.

The project includes drain cleaning, verge clearing, and the cutting of overhanging tree branches to improve accessibility along the roadway following the impacts of the volcanic eruptions, which left heavy ash deposits, blocked drains, and damaged vegetation throughout the area.

These works are aimed at restoring safe and reliable access for farmers transporting produce and supplies, as well as persons accessing the hiking trail.
