We were privileged today to be participants in the b kinder summit 2026 at Lansdowne Crescent Primary School.

It won’t capture the courage, values of respect and connection shown consistently by all our students and their creative and collaborative critical thinking of our year 6 children.

Thank you to our staff and families of Glenorchy for nurturing our children to achieve this success in the wider community.

It’s not every day you get to share your thinking with Her Excellency Caroline Wells, Governor of Tasmania, and Lisa Rudd from Glenorchy City Council, Danny and Chris from the b kinder foundation and teachers and principals from Tasmanian b kinder schools and student leaders who were inspiring and brave.

Stay tuned as we watch their initiative spring to life. A day beautifully facilitated by Illuminate Education.

From Alyanna at KPMG:

“It was a lovely morning, and we really appreciated experiencing The Glenorchy Way, the connection and care that make your school community so special.

We're excited for the Spark sessions ahead!”

Thank you to Lil Mirtl and the Friendship Hub attendees for teaching our children about playground games of the past- marbles and jacks.

Our inter-generational partnership supported by the Youth Hub leaders Joel, Monique and Willie.

Students reflected on the walk back to school what the experience means to them. Every student had a spring in their step following the connection at the hub.

“I learnt connecting with people that aren't your age can be fun!” Payal

“We can learn important stuff from our elders. If we don't learn about the past we can repeat it.” Annabelle

Happy Father’s and Special Person Day, we hope you are enjoying the crafted gifts, cards and attention for our little humans.

Fathers and/or positive male role models do more than guide us, they show us what strength, kindness, integrity, and responsibility look like in action. Their influence can shape a life long after their words are spoken.

Thank you.
