Thank you Libraries Tasmania volunteers! ๐Ÿซถ

Libraries Tasmania is celebrating National Volunteer Week from 18 to 24 May 2026, recognising the incredible work our volunteers do every year.

Our volunteers help build digital skills, deliver books through the Home Library Service and support adults with literacy and numeracy skills.

We value the diverse backgrounds and experiences our volunteers bring.

Thank you for your dedication and amazing contributions.

Sunday 17 May is IDAHOBIT Day! Will you go rainbow? ๐ŸŒˆ

The International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination (IDAHOBIT) marks 17 May 1990, when homosexuality was removed from the World Health Organisationโ€™s Classification of Diseases.

Go rainbow and create safer workplaces, school and communities. You can also borrow an LGBTIQA+ book from your local library: https://bit.ly/4uGWkF7

Each year for IDAHOBIT, Tasmaniaโ€™s Working It Out hosts the Dorothies Awards. This year, the Dorothies theme is Excellence in LGBTIQA+ Inclusion in Family and Sexual Violence Services & Programs.

Keep an eye on the Working It Out website for the official announcement: https://www.workingitout.org.au/
