Save TMAG Jobs!

This morning, members of the community turned out in solidarity with the TMAG workforce.

TMAG is one of Tasmania’s most important cultural institutions - preserving our history, supporting education, showcasing art and culture, and welcoming locals and visitors alike.

TMAG workers deserve secure jobs, proper resourcing and respect for the work they do.

The message from this morning was clear: Tasmanians value TMAG, and they want the Tasmanian Government pledge their commitment to protect it from job cuts.

A great win by Tasmanian Labor in the face of hostile opposition from the anti worker state Liberal Government.

Today's story of mind numbingly incompetent State Liberal Government failure is the story of the new $20M kitchen at Risdon Prison.

Built to replace a 65yo facility well past its use by date, the contract was awarded WITHOUT TENDER by former Minister, now backbencher Madeleine Ogilvie MP.

After commissioning, CPSU Tasmania members working there identified a myriad of problems with the build, forcing it to be shut down for rectification and with meals now being shipped in from Victoria at the cost to taxpayers of $90,000 a day.

Another shameful example of this Rockcliff Liberal Government's absolute inability to handle any sort of infrastructure project whatsoever.

Tasmanians deserve better.

Tasmanian Liberal Minister Felix Ellis MP had the national spotlight on him for all the wrong reasons last night.

Last week, after a journalist, doing their job, asked him a question that he didn't really like, the minister went on a "Trumpian" attack to camera, followed up by a social media post personally attacking the reporter, prompting violent and personal attacks on the journalist via social media.

When asked to apologise, a government media spokesperson did the initial job. Followed by weasel words when the MP was pressed further on the issue "How magnanimous", said Media Watch Host, Linton Besser.

Here is the story of his shaming on National Television.

A Tasmanian minister whips up discontent on his socials, following an inconvenient question.
