How many species can we spot across Kingborough in just two weeks?

From 15–30 September, head outdoors and record the plants, animals and other living things you find using iNaturalist. Every verified observation will count towards Kingborough’s tally in a friendly competition with other southern Tasmanian councils - and help build valuable knowledge for you, for scientists, and for land managers.

The winning council area will be announced in October.
Let’s put Kingborough’s biodiversity on the map! 🗺

🚶‍♀️ Snug Esplanade Footpath Update

Construction of the new concrete footpath along Esplanade, Snug continues to make good progress with stormwater, kerb, gutter and retaining walls all underway.

To allow this work to be completed safely, this section of road between the Channel Highway and Cutana Parade remains closed during construction (🗺 refer to map in the photos). Motorists travelling to and from the Channel Highway are asked to use Beach Road as an alternative route and follow all traffic management signage.

Thank you for your patience as we deliver these important improvements for the Snug community. 🚧👷‍♀️👣

🌱 Spring turf maintenance at Snug Oval!

Our Turf Maintenance Team is hard at work aerating the oval, helping relieve soil compaction and improve the movement of air, water and nutrients through the turf.

This important spring maintenance helps keep our sporting grounds healthy, safe and ready for the busy summer season ahead.

Please follow any temporary closures and signage while works are being completed. 🚜🌿

🏟 Another milestone for the Kingborough Sports Precinct

The Tasmania Devils Football Club has announced Fairbrother Construction as the successful tenderer for the club's High Performance Centre at Kingston's Twin Ovals.
The announcement marks another step forward in the development of the Kingborough Sports Precinct, which continues to grow as an important destination for sport and recreation in southern Tasmania.

The Tasmania Devils Football Club also announced in July that Batchelor Construction Group had been appointed to deliver civil works for Oval 3, which will provide a home ground for the Kingborough Tigers and expand sporting opportunities within the precinct.

Together, the Tasmania Devils' High Performance Centre and Oval 3 projects represent a significant investment in the Kingborough Sports Precinct, helping to strengthen its role as a destination for community participation, local sport and elite sporting pathways.
