πŸŽΆπŸ“š Today our Year 6 students enjoyed a taster visit to Batemans Bay High School as part of their Year 7 transition program.

Students participated in a music lesson followed by a history lesson, giving them a wonderful glimpse into high school life. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were excited to explore new learning opportunities and meet some of the staff.

A big thank you to Batemans Bay High School for making our students feel so welcome. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

πŸ“πŸ§ͺ Buru has been learning about capacity with our student teacher, Mr Mack. We had lots of fun exploring measurement by using informal units, filling containers, and comparing their capacities. πŸ’§πŸ₯›

Through hands-on activities, students discovered that a taller container does not always hold more than a shorter one. πŸ€”πŸ“ It was wonderful to see everyone investigating, predicting, and testing their ideas while developing their understanding of capacity. πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Our class have been learning about the gold rush in Mogo with Mrs Boyenga. On Friday, the students told me about all the knowledge they have gained. They know that β€˜in the olden days’ people mined and panned for gold in our local area. They discussed the gold being sold so β€˜people could get rich’ and they understand that we should never enter a mine if we come across one because it is dangerous.
After our discussion we β€˜panned for gold’ in the sandpit. We then weighed our gold to see who found the greatest amount and swapped it for a reward. It was very exciting looking for gold and one student described it as the most intense thing he had ever done 😁 We didn’t strike it rich but it was a rich experience!
