Nashdale Public School

Nashdale Public School Educating since 1888 Nashdale Public School is located in the glorious foothills of Mount Canobolas on the outskirts of Orange in Central Western NSW.

The school is set amongst picturesque surroundings, with stunning flora and historic buildings providing the perfect backdrop for students to grow and learn. We serve a rural community of students from small farm holdings and orchards around the school district. We also have approximately a third of our population come from the city of Orange, travelling either by bus or private vehicle. The scho

ol has a long and happy working relationship with the local community over the years with many ex-pupils expressing a genuine interest in the progression of existing pupils. Our staff provide a balanced, stimulating and caring atmosphere for all children to progress. Programs presented to students allow for individuality to develop through the provision of a stimulating and challenging curriculum. Established in 1888, the school has a very strong tradition of care and providing an excellent education for all students. All students have the opportunity to learn using state-of-the-art technology. All classrooms contain Smart Boards and each child utilises ipad and notebook technologies.. We believe the partnership between staff, parents and the school community is most important to allow students to achieve at school and beyond.

CWA PUBLIC SPEAKING

ANNEKE B! Congratulations!

Anneke proudly represented Nashdale at the CWA Public Speaking competition in Orange today and WON the Year Five section!

The judges and audience were entertained by her very polished and creative performance on the topic, "The day everything went wrong....."

Anneke competed against 40 students from schools across the region, so this is a wonderful achievement.

Anneke will now begin compete at the Inter-Group Competition level in Narromine next month.

We are all so incredibly proud of you!

STATE SELECTION!

Congratulations to Braxton B who has been selected as one of only 35 High Potential and Gifted students in the NSW Primary Dance ensemble.
To be selected in this troupe is recognition of the time and commitment that Braxton (and his family) have dedicated to this field. We are beyond proud.
Brax is currently learning routines in all styles of dance in Sydney (including an outing to The Lion King) and will be performing at a variety of state events later in the year.

Come along and join us to watch the Matildas on the big screen at Nashdale Hall.
There will be activities for the kids and dinner available.
If eating tacos, please either pre- purchase taco tickets or RSVP (& pay on the night) for your tacos to help us out with catering. We would hate to under cater!
Feel free to dress up in Green and Gold. Bring along beanbags, floor pillows or anything comfy to watch the big game.
Bar will be open from 5:30pm on SATURDAY 6th JUNE.

NEW SPORTS POLOS AVAILABLE

Our new sports polos ($39.95) are now available at Stripes Supply Co. Orange (formerly Orange Clothing Company) in McNamara Lane.
Thanks to Leah Jones for all of her work over the last year and a half in coordinating with our new suppliers. We recognise and appreciate all of your efforts!

KIDS LIT QUIZ

Congratulations to our Kids Lit Quiz team who competed last week at James Sheahan against dozens of other schools.
Teams answered questions on all things literature related - our team's stand out round was "farming"! Adelaide, Charlie, Arienne and Lottie were awarded book prizes for our school library for their strong knowledge of all things book and film.

OSSA Sporting Spotlight

Our OSSA Green netball team recently competed in Round 1 of the knockout competition against a strong opposition in Calare PS.

The team should be very proud of the way they represented the school, showing excellent skill, sportsmanship, and game awareness throughout the match. It was fantastic to see the players encourage one another, work together as a team, and display a determined never-give-up attitude from start to finish. The improvement shown from the first training session through to game day was especially impressive, and the team’s commitment and positive attitude were evident throughout the competition. Well done to all players involved.

Thanks to Mrs Simmons for coaching the team on game day.
