👶 WE NEED SOME LITTLE SWIMMERS! 👧

This Sunday, our Splash team is coming together at Stockland Swim School for a special professional development session focused on something that sits right at the heart of great swimming lessons… connection.

And we need some swimmers to help us!

We’re offering FREE Learn to Swim lessons this Sunday 16 August as part of the session. You can already swim with Splash or be completely new to us, everyone is welcome!

Where: Stockland Swim School
When: Sunday 16 August
Cost: Completely FREE

2:00PM – 2:30PM
8 x Babies 1 — 6–18 months (parent participation in the water required)
3 x Starfish — 2.5 to 4.5 years, not yet swimming independently
4 x Rainbow Fish - 3.5+ years, able to rocket independently
4 x Platypus - beginning freestyle and ready to add breathing
4 x Octopus - freestyle with side breathing

2:30PM - 3:00PM
4 x Rainbow Fish — 3.5+ years, able to rocket independently
4 x Platypus — beginning freestyle and ready to add breathing
4 x Octopus — freestyle with side breathing
4 x Stingray — freestyle, backstroke + introduction to butterfly kick
5 x Frog — full laps of freestyle and backstroke without putting their feet down, plus developing butterfly and breaststroke skills

A little more about this special session 👀

These lessons form part of a professional development session for our Learn to Swim team. A larger group of Splash teachers will be poolside observing the lessons before continuing their PD session once lessons finish.

The session will also be photographed and videoed for training and Splash content, so families participating will need to be comfortable with their child being photographed and filmed.

Our teachers will be focusing on connection, how we build trust with our swimmers, help them feel safe and confident, and create an environment where they’re ready to learn.

We have eight free spots available in our Babies 1 class tomorrow, perfect for little swimmers aged 6–18 months.

And this one is pretty special, your teacher will be Cass K, the face behind our Splash Learn to Swim program, with more than 22 years of teaching experience.

Looking for a casual job that actually works around school?

Splash is recruiting Lifeguards in Rockhampton & Yeppoon, and there’s a Pool Lifeguard course running THIS WEEKEND to get you qualified and ready to work.

Two Day Pool Lifeguard Course
Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 August
9:00am–4:00pm
Southside Aquatic Centre, Rockhampton
$375 — includes First Aid + CPR

Once qualified, you can apply to start working with Splash from next week.

Casual Lifeguard rates start from $19.23/hr for under 17s, increasing with age to $34.96/hr for adults, with higher penalty rates for eligible weekend and public holiday shifts.

With early mornings, daytime, afternoon/evening and weekend shifts available, it’s a great job to fit around school.

We’re recruiting Lifeguards to join the Splash team now and if you’re not qualified yet, we can help you get there.

Our next Lifeguard Course is running THIS WEEKEND for $365, including your First Aid + CPR.

Successfully complete the course and we have work ready to go from next week.

Early mornings, daytime, afternoons, evenings and weekends there are plenty of options to fit around school, uni, sport or another job.

When he’s not leading our lifeguard team at Southside Aquatic Centre, you’ll find him answering the call as a Rural Firefighter, protecting his community when it matters most. That same calm under pressure, commitment to others and natural leadership is exactly why Andy is such an important part of the Splash family.

Being a Team Leader at Splash is about much more than running a shift. It’s about leading people, mentoring future lifeguards, supporting customers, making critical decisions and creating a culture where safety and service come first.

Now Andy has his sights set on becoming a Lifeguard Trainer, continuing to grow his skills and helping develop the next generation of lifeguards. At Splash, we don’t just fill positions. We invest in people, create opportunities and build careers.

💙 Meet Letisha!

One of our longest serving swim teachers, Letisha has been changing little lives in the pool since 2008.

You can find her teaching every Saturday and Sunday at Southside Aquatic Centre, helping little swimmers build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water.

Letisha has been teaching with Splash since 2008, helping hundreds of swimmers build confidence, learn lifesaving skills and develop a love for the water.

When she’s not in the pool, she’s just as busy.. she’s a proud mum of five and works as a teacher aide at a local Christian College.

Today, Southside Aquatic Centre is turning BLUE as we come together to raise awareness about drowning prevention and celebrate the people helping keep our community safe around water.

Check out our trainee lifeguards and their trainer in action as they complete their new Lifeguard Course and develop the skills needed to respond when it matters most.

Our staff have certainly understood the assignment! Keep an eye out for plenty of blue outfits, ribbons, tutus and maybe even a blue wig or two around the centre today.
