A huge shout-out to Georgina and Leah, alongside our awesome Art teacher Ange, for sharing their fantastic face-painting talents at the recent LSC Neurodivergent Catch-Up morning. It was awesome to see our students stepping beyond the school gates, sharing their skills, creativity and kindness with our wider community.
Proud moments, creative hearts and community connections.

🎸🔥 FIGURE 8 — WHAT A RIDE! 🔥🎸
What an incredible few weeks it has been for Figure 8! 🤘
These awesome young musicians took out the CQ All Schools Battle of the Bands, making history as only the second state school in the competition’s history to claim the win! 🏆
What an incredible accomplishment — and one we couldn’t be prouder of!
Since their win, the students have continued to work hard and make the most of every opportunity that has come their way. Most recently, they had the opportunity to open the local Sounds of Rock Festival, giving them a real taste of life as a professional performing musician. 🎤🎶
From soundchecks and stage preparation to performing in front of a festival crowd, it was an awesome experience and another fantastic opportunity for these young musicians to build their skills, confidence and experience on stage.
And today, Figure 8 headed to Rocky for another pretty special opportunity — an interview with Pinkie from Triple M! 📻🎙️ Keep an ear out for their interview slot — we can’t wait to hear them on air! 👀
A huge special shout-out to Jacqui Baker from Battle of the Bands and Amanda Hock from Lock and Hock Productions for their support of this fantastic event and for helping to create such authentic, exciting opportunities for our up-and-coming musicians!
🎸 Want to catch Figure 8 live?
Their next performance will be on the mainstage at Pinefest on Friday, 17 October! They’ll be hitting the stage alongside our second band, The Band, from around 4:20pm. Come along, support our young musicians and help us give them the biggest crowd possible! 🤘🔥

What a fun way to finish the term in Japanese class! Our senior students made fruit sandwiches inspired by the ones they enjoyed during our tour of Japan over Easter, while our Year 9 students prepared the delicious Okinawan dish taco rice. Well done to everyone for your fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm! Gochisousamadesh*ta! (Thank you for the meal!)

YEPPOON RAMS RUGBY LEAGUE – OPEN FIRSTS GRAND FINAL

Last Friday saw our Open Firsts Rugby League Boys play out an exciting Grand Final against St Brendan’s College in the Open C division. After a slow start, our boys showed some amazing resilience to fight back from 18 to 6. With the scores locked up at 18 all, with only seconds remaining, a heartbreaking officiating decision left the score at 24 to 18 in St Brendan’s favour. We are very proud of the effort, resilience and composure our boys showed on the night, and all season. Stand out players included Ben Richardson, Jake Hayman, Cooper Robins, Harry Weeks and Will Arnett. We would like to thank our coaching staff Mrs Hawkins, Jackson Mapes & Mr Holloway for their efforts this season.

We would like to thank our wonderful 2026 Sponsors – Yeppoon Betta Home Living, Jaymak Equipment Hygiene Services, Cowan Restoration Services, Cap Coast Windscreen and Linbridge Builders Pty. We look forward to having an even bigger and better 2027!
