Our sister school, Wako International High School, has arrived for its annual visit to YSHS. On their first day, our Year 7 volunteer students assisted with the orientation session, and Year 8 and 9 students conducted a school tour. The visitors then joined regular classes with their school buddies. For many of the visitors from city life in Japan, touching chickens and cows, pulling out carrots, and taking a bite straight from them were all first-time experiences. They will be in Yeppoon until Tuesday, 25 August, so if you see them, don’t forget to say “Konnichiwa”.

The Annual YSHS Teachers vs Students Competition kicks off next week!

Across the coming weeks, our Year 12 Students will take on the YSHS staff in a range of sports, with all games happening during AM Break.

Last year, the teachers claimed the trophy…but can they defend their title in 2026?

We’re looking forward to plenty of friendly rivalry, school spirit and some very competitive action!
