Taranganba State School proudly congratulates Year 6 student Jack Moncrieff on his outstanding achievements as a member of the Capricornia Schoolboys 12 Years Cricket Team.
Representing Capricornia at the state championships, Jack played a significant role in helping his team achieve an impressive 6th-place finish, narrowly missing out in their final playoff match against South Coast by just six runs.
Jack has enjoyed an outstanding year in sport and continues to embody Taranganba State School's values of being Respectful, Responsible and Resilient. His commitment, sportsmanship and determination have been evident throughout the year, both on and off the field.
Well done, Jack. We are incredibly proud of the way you represent Taranganba State School in the sporting arena. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement! 🏏👏

Parent Consultation: Proposed Student Resource Scheme (SRS) for 2027 Book Packs

We're exploring a new way to provide book packs for students in Prep to Year 3 from 2027 and we'd love your feedback.

This year many Prep to Year 3 students haven't had the opportunity to use their Back to School Boost funding in the same way as older students, who often use it towards camps, sports and excursions. In 2026, all students received a $100 Back to School Boost, and from 2027 this will increase to $150 per student.

We've been working with our stationery supplier to explore the option of ordering book packs in bulk. This would allow families to use their Back to School Boost funding towards the classroom stationery and learning resources their child needs for the school year.

What would this mean?
✅ A pre-packed book pack ready for the start of the school year
✅ Reduced out-of-pocket costs for families
✅ Use of the 2027 $150 Back to School Boost towards resources
✅ Completely optional for families
✅ Families can still choose to purchase their own supplies if preferred

No decision has been made. We're seeking feedback to find out whether this is something families would like us to introduce in 2027.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share your thoughts. Your feedback will help guide our planning for next year.

Unfortunately, our magpies are active at the front of our school on Taranganba Road. After seeking advice and we will be arranging removal of the nest and relocation of the adult birds. Dismount bikes when riding in this area. Students who ride from the top end of school should lock bikes at the top racks, Students riding from the roundabout will need to get off bikes near the car park to reduce the risk of swooping. We are actively working on this issue to reduce risk for our students and the community.
