Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, is the first day back at school for many Calgarian students. As families prepare, we want to remind Calgarians to expect heavier traffic during drop-offs & pick-ups, be extra vigilant & follow these tips to keep everyone safe as students return to school.

🚨 Don’t stop or park within 5 metres of a crosswalk.
🚨 Don’t make U-turns near schools. Go around the block.
🚨 Don’t park or stop in areas marked “no-stopping”.
🚨 Don’t walk out between cars. Always use crosswalks.
🚨 Don’t block bus zones, even if they are clear.
🚨 Don’t stop next to parked vehicles.
