Good morning! It felt so good to have the library open to the public again yesterday. What a wonderful way to kick off October. Did you know that October is Canadian Library Month?! In recognition, we are hosting an Open House on October 21st from 6pm-8pm and we would love if you could join us! We will have a limited quantity of swag bags available and will also have some fun activities set up around the library. Mark your calendar and plan to join us!

We have some super exciting programs coming up for you!

This Saturday we have our Halloween Swap running from 11:30am-2:30pm. This is the perfect chance to drop off Halloween costumes that no longer fit, or decor that no longer suits your space. Please bring only clean items in working condition. Can't make it to the swap but still have items to drop off? Bring them by the library anytime today!

We are also moving away from Messy Story Time and headed into regular Story Time. Unlike our Messy Story Time, this one will not always have a sensory component, but we will find an activity to tie in whenever we can. We are also moving away from the picture books geared for the younger audience and into picture books that kids of all ages will enjoy. This Story Time is great for the homeschooling group AND the community's toddlers and young children.

Finally, we have Sewing Club! You must register for this one in advance as spots are limited. We have Mrs. Pumm from Aurora Elementary School coming to teach this one and each week will build off the last one, so we suggest that you plan to attend every Monday (with the exception of holidays). This club will wrap up in December with a final Christmas themed sewing project.

Who is more excited - you or us!? We are ready to greet you back into your library with a smile and a hello! We are only open from 9am-5pm today, but that's better than nothing! After today we will be back to regular operating hours!

The best part is, TRAC is already back well ahead of the predicted October 5th date. It will take us some time still to sort through book holds and get all these books checked in, but we are SO happy to be back to our regularly scheduled routines!

Opel will be ready for Crafty Kids this afternoon! This one takes a little prep work - please make sure your children are registered so we have enough supplies.

Sorry to our patrons but we are closed again today. We are just as anxious to have you back in the library as you are to be here! We have been working so hard in preparation. In the meantime, Art in the Afternoon has been cancelled. We are planning to be back on Thursday for Crafty Kids but we will keep you posted. Thank you for your patience in the meantime! We sure appreciate you!

Good evening! We aren't open tonight so we can't offer our usual Adult Calming Art, but while it's on Opel's mind, she is wondering what other kinds of crafty things you would like to see offered during calming art? They need to be crafts that can be self directed because sometimes Opel is busy with other programs or off that evening, but she wants to offer a wider variety of activities so the program doesn't start to feel stale. What kinds of artsy/crafty things do you like to do?
