Did you know that the month of September is Hunger Action Month?

This month our Cambridge Site team joined Feed Ontario’s Hunger Action Month campaign to talk about food insecurity and address the needs in our community.

Our team also invited our participants, volunteers and community partners to join an art group with the Hunger Action Month theme, and we made dirt and worm pies. As the month comes to a close, we will continue to partner with local food banks to tackle food insecurity, and we need your support. Donate, volunteer, and spread the word.

Happy Bis*xual Awareness Day!

Bis*xual erasure is real. One contributor to erasure is the assumption that those in heteros*xual presenting relationships are straight, when in fact one or both partners may be bis*xual. Just because someone is in a straight presenting relationship doesn't negate their bis*xuality and that part of their identity shouldn't be marginalized or forgotten.

Here at Thrive HIV we support all folks, including bis*xuals! Would you like more information on PrEP and other safer s*x strategies? Want to know where to get tested for STIs? Would you like to come in for an anonymous HIV Self Test coaching session? Check our bio for more information!

Condoms, both internal and external, serve as physical barriers against potential sources of s*xually transmitted infections. L**e is also an important player because it reduces the risk of cuts and tears that'll be entry points for microorganisms. Condoms and l**e help you stay safer during intimate contact!

Reach out if you want to learn where to access condoms and l**e for free, or visit our website at www.thrivehiv.ca

Check out our information in our bio and come talk to us.

Taking PrEP effectively reduces one's risk of getting HIV from condomless s*x (when used correctly, of course!). It offers protection to people who are not living with HIV. It is now available in oral form through pills, and through injectable forms that can be given once every 2 months or twice a year, depending on the drug used!

Curious to learn more? Having trouble finding a PrEP provider? Talk to us, schedule an info session through https://calendly.com/d/cnqy-bgq-c83

THRIVE is thrilled to be partnering with Toasty Toes WR and the Waterloo Region Community Foundation to provide socks to our community members who are living outside. This partnership will allow us to have a sufficient amount of socks to sustain us throughout the year. The winter months involve an increased amount of wet feet and the need for sock changes, and knowing that we will not run out of supplies is a relief. We strive to be part of our community’s infrastructure where folks can come and receive the resources they need, and through this partnership we are one step closer to happier feet in whatever Canadian weather comes our way.
