🌱🐰 The Gryphons are learning beyond the classroom! 🐰🌱
Mrs. Tallari’s Grade 11 Environmental Science and Grade 9 Science classes recently visited the Roots to Harvest Garden at the Volunteer Pool location for an incredible hands-on learning experience. 💙🤍🖤
Students rolled up their sleeves and got involved in activities like laying straw, planting beans, and harvesting spruce buds—all while exploring organic farming practices such as the “Four Sisters” planting method. 🌾🌽🌱
They also discovered the value of urban garden spaces within communities and the importance of maintaining nutrient-rich soil for sustainable growth. 🌍✨
To top off the visit, students met two soon-to-be moms—a pair of pregnant rabbits expected to give birth any day now! 🐇💙

✨🎨 Une journée inspirante à la galerie d’art pour nos Gryphons! 💙🤍🖤
This week our Grade 9 destreamed French, Grade 11 University French, Grade 11 IB French, and Grade 12 University & IB French students explored the powerful exhibition A Strong Law Bids Us, featuring impactful works by Natalie King, Quinn Hopkins, and many other artists whose voices sparked meaningful reflection. 🖼️✨
Students also took part in a hands‑on workshop inspired by Métis Dot Art and the work of Christi Belcourt, creating their own pieces while learning about the cultural significance behind this vibrant tradition. 🎨🌀
For our Grade 11 IB French students, the experience brought their learning to life, connecting directly to their IB units on Identities and Experiences. Themes of cultural voice, personal narrative, and lived experience were explored in authentic and meaningful ways. 🌍💭

🏆🎉 What an incredible day for our Gryphons! 💙🤍🖤
Yesterday, Superior proudly hosted the Annual University of Waterloo Team Competition, welcoming talented participants from St. Patrick’s High School, Westgate CVI, Hammarskjold High School, St. Ignatius High School, and our very own Gryphons! 🧠✨
Students showcased their skills and teamwork across a variety of group contests—an amazing display of collaboration and school spirit!
👏 Congratulations to St. Ignatius High School on their well-earned 1st place finish, and a big shoutout to our Gryphons for an outstanding performance and a close 2nd place! 💪🖤

Mr. Cullis’s Computer Engineering students have been hard at work designing, building, and programming their own remote-control race cars! 🚗💻 From structure and gearing to steering, weight distribution, and coding, students put their skills together to create fully functional racers.
🏆 Congratulations to Killian Chapman and Kristoph Harris, who were crowned champions of the race series!
Next up, these innovative Gryphons are shifting gears to autonomous Sumo Battle-Bots—we can’t wait to see them in action! 🤖💥
👏 Amazing work to all students for their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving throughout this project.

🚵‍♂️🏆 Dominance on the trails continues! The Superior Gryphons mountain bike team has done it again—undefeated since 2013 and bringing home the overall Team Championship along with titles in Novice Boys, Jr Girls, Jr Boys, Sr Girls, and Sr Boys! 💙🤍🖤
This season also marks a historic milestone for the Gryphons, as Superior is the only school in recent years to sweep all 5 city & regional endurance championships:

🌍✈️ The Gryphons went global in Mme Tassone’s FSF1DB class! 💙🤍🖤
Students explored La Francophonie by researching unique French-speaking regions—and then brought them to life as travel agents and tourists right in the classroom! 🇫🇷🌎
To top it off, our Gryphons enjoyed the sunshine while putting their French skills into action—playing friendly rounds of pétanque and sharing their favourite sports et passe-temps! ☀️🎯
