We love the support we’ve seen for our Products with Purpose Pop-Up Sales! People are happy to have a chance to pick up all of their favourite All Hands Bakery breads and frozen pizzas. And our crew is happy to make granola, ginger molasses cookies and now hummus as part of our Life Skills programming. As always proceeds of these sales help to fund our programming costs!

Any guesses what we might have celebrated this week?
It was 4 years ago in June 2022 that the Rowan Tree Collective first opened the door to 6 families on a three day a week pilot project. Now we have 6 times the members and we’re open 5 days a week.

We have 5 main branches of programming at the Rowan Tree Collective. Some of our programs hit on multiple branches. Making sandwiches for the Dew Drop Inn Thunder Bay is one of those. We practice Life Skills by working our way through making a couple of hundred sammies. Providing food for our neighbours is also a good way to support our Active Citizenship branch of programming. And when we walk over to deliver those sandwiches to the Dew Drop Inn we’re getting some fresh air and some exercise which helps meet the goals of our Health and Wellness programming.
So really it’s a win-win-win.

We’ve got all of your favourite sourdough breads and frozen pizzas - great in the oven or on the BBQ. By popular demand, we’ve brought back mushroom soup and our sell out pumpkin dog treats! Maple Crunch granola is almost sold out but we still have Orange Cranberry available. And of course…our signature ginger molasses cookies.

At long last, the grass is green and the sun is out and we have double digit temperatures! 🌞
Summer at the Rowan Tree Collective means neighbourhood walks every day! It also signals the start of BBQ lunches!
This week Will and Rowan made the burgers from scratch and we were happy to host a few of our neighbours who work at the Dew Drop Inn Thunder Bay. We’ve worked together with the Dew since we opened our doors - they’re our neighbourhood besties! Their Executive Director, Michael is a beautiful soul who has been a delight to work with - always so kind and supportive of our program. We wish him well in his upcoming retirement. We welcome the new Dew ED, Dani and we look forward to a continued partnership!
