Dew Drop Inn Thunder Bay St. Andrew's Dew Drop Inn soup kitchen was established in 1981 to address the needs of the hungry in the community of Thunder Bay.

The Dew Drop Inn is open 7 days a week and currently during the pandemic we offer a cold take-home lunch from 9 am to 3:30 pm or a hot take home meal from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. We provide a safe, welcoming environment where hungry men, women and children can access food with no questions asked and are treated with respect and dignity..

Thank you so much to our friends from Merla Mae who stopped by yesterday afternoon bringing these delicious sundae cups. They brought over 200 sundaes for us to use in our Compassion Kitchen. How amazing is that!? If that wasn't enough they also brought by a variety of different items from their kitchen for us to use seeing that they are now closed for the season. Thank you so much for your many years of support and for the role you play in assisting us to serve a good meal each day.

Thank you so much to our friend Ray Smith who is holding his 2nd annual food fundraiser and variety show for us here at the Dew Drop. It will be an afternoon filled with music from the 50s,60s & 70s. Last year was such a successful event and we look forward to what this year will bring. The show will take place at West Thunder Community Centre 915 S. Edward St from 2:00PM-4:00PM. Tickets are $5 each and are available here at the Dew Drop Inn or give Ray Smith a call at 807-475-0995. Thank you so much once again to Ray for hosting this wonderful event. WOW! October already? September was a busy month here at the Dew Drop Inn but not quite as busy as the previous year. We saw 12,222 meals served which was a daily average of 407 which is 11 less meals per day from the previous year. To feed over 400 people each day we could not do without the support from our community. Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by in September with donations & to everyone who volunteered their precious gift of time. We could not do what we do without you and we are so thankful to have you all on our team.

We have said it before & we will say it again. We have AWESOME neighbours. Our friends from Rowan Tree Collective are certainly a highlight of our week when they stop by Tuesday afternoons. Did you know this amazing group prepares many sandwiches for us each week to serve as an extra with our daily hot meal. If that wasn't enough they also prepare 100 sandwiches for our cold bagged lunches each week. Thank you so much for being such amazing neighbours and for the role you all play in our Compassion Kitchen. We are so thankful to have you all on our team.

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by this past week with donations. We are so thankful for all of your support and for the role you play in our compassion kitchen. This week for our wish list we are sandwich focused on average preparing over 280 sandwiches daily it is safe to say we use a plentiful amount of: margarine, mayonnaise, cold cuts & cheese slices. This may be our wish list for the week but any and all donations are highly encouraged and accepted with a smile. Donations can be dropped off daily between 9am-330pm. Thank you so much to everyone who helps us to serve a good meal daily. We could not do what we do without the community support.

Just over 3 weeks away until our Annual Take Me Home Dinner with our friends from United Way of Thunder Bay. Our friends from St. Anthony's will be in the kitchen preparing their signature Meatloaf which will be served with mashed potato's, roasted chefs vegetables, gravy & a fresh Bennett's Bakery dinner roll. Dessert will be your choice of either blueberry cheesecake or granny cake. Tickets are for sale here at the Dew Drop Inn and we also have online tickets for sale on the link below. Look who stopped by! Norina from Ling Lee's Chinese Cuisine stopped by this morning. Norina has been a long time supporter of us here at the Dew Drop Inn & never comes empty handed . Norina heard our need for our upcoming Thanksgiving meal and got us well prepared. Norina brought turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, stuffing & cranberry sauce for us to use. Last year we served 816 meals on Thanksgiving and we are prepared for another busy day. Thank you so much for your years of support and for the role you play in our compassion kitchen. Thank you so much to Lisa who stopped by yesterday after the Thunder Bay District Labor Council Picnic. Lisa certainly did not come empty handed bringing 7 cases of hotdogs, hot dog buns, condiments and 4 cases of chips for us to use in our Compassion Kitchen. Isn't that wonderful!?
