250 aastat tähti ja triipe.
Alates Betsy Rossi legendaarsetest nõelapistetest 1776. aastal kuni lipuni, mis elas üle pommirünnakud Fort McHenrys ja inspireeris riigihümni — Ameerika lipp pole kunagi olnud ainult kangatükk. See on olnud ajaloo tunnistaja.
See on lehvinud Suribachi mäe tipul Iwo Jimal.
Loe edasi 👇

250 years of the Stars and Stripes.
From Betsy Ross's legendary stitches in 1776, to the flag that survived the bombs at Fort McHenry and inspired our national anthem — the American flag has never just been fabric. It's been a witness to history.
It's stood atop Mount Suribachi at Iwo Jima. It's the only flag ever planted on the Moon. It rallied a grieving nation after 9/11, and it's been carried into 67 Olympic opening ceremonies by athletes proud to represent their country.
13 stars became 50. The design changed — the meaning never did: unity, freedom, resilience.
As President Trump has said, it remains "the most sacred and cherished symbol of the United States of America."
This is its story. Read more 👇
