Today, the UK’s new Ambassador to Estonia Jo Lomas, had the honour of being received by President Alar Karis to formally present her credentials.

The meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the UK and Estonia’s strong and enduring partnership, with discussions on our continued cooperation in defence, digitalisation and innovation, and education.

We look forward to deepening this close friendship and working together on the shared priorities that matter to both our countries 🇬🇧🤝🇪🇪

🇪🇪🤝🇬🇧 „Järgmisel aastal saabub Eestisse ligi 1200 sõdurist koosnev üksus, mis saab olema varustatud kaasaegse ja siinsete oludega hästi sobiva relvastusega. Lisaks on jätkuvalt terve Briti maaväe brigaad Ühendkuningriigis pidevalt valmis meile vajadusel appi tulema. Juba sel aastal alustab Ühendkuningriik Eestisse meie tugevdusbrigaadi jaoks mõeldud varustuse ja moonavarude eelpaigutamist, mis võimaldab üksusel kriisiolukorras oluliselt kiiremini tegutseda,“ sõnas kaitseminister Hanno Pevkur.

Kaitseminister Hanno Pevkur ja Ühendkuningriigi kaitseminister Dan Jarvis allkirjastasid täna Tallinnas kahepoolse kaitsekoostöö uuendatud teekaardi, mis toob järgmisel aastal Eestisse senisest suurema Ühendkuningriigi üksuse.

Tihedam koostöö, tugevam ja paremini kaitstud idatiib.
